ADVENTURES WITH WOOD AND TILE

Right now we're in the middle of tearing up the tile in our entry way, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. The foundation under the tile was not put down correctly. We have had to replace some of the wood underneath  because of water damage. Our shoe cubbies are on top the table, the island is by the fireplace, and the chairs are in the living room. We've already got the wood cut and sanded, so all we need is to lay it down and whitewash it. We already have a few pieces of wood stapled, but you never know what kind of surprises lay ahead. We 're staying partly at my grandparents house while they're gone in Seattle. It's a mess here at the Knobloch Crew household. We're making it slow and steady thourgh the holidays and we hope you are too! Good evening, Charlotte and family

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you to all those people who check my blog. I would also like to give a warm thank you to my customers as well.  Whether you give or receive presents, remember to be grateful -  even for a pair of socks! What you get might not be want you wanted, but might be something better. Cherish those small, meaningful moments.  I hope your Christmas this year is full of joy and laughter! Merry Christmas!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

Christmas is coming, oh yes it is! To get into the holiday season, here are a few diy ideas: Bake cookies. Ask your kid what their favorite kind of cookie is, then bake that kind of cookie. On Christmas day, there will be a plate of of their favorite cookies under the tree. What a yummy way to spread Christmas cheer! If you find your kid -( or you!)- complaining while doing chores encourage them to start singing a Christmas carol. If you're not a big singer then play some holiday music on your phone. Decorate your house. Take out a pad of paper and mark off the days till Christmas, make a Christmas banner, and hang up lights. Enjoy these activities!

THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving can be stressful: buttering the rolls, setting the table, cooking the turkey, making the stuffing. Maybe you're seeing relatives that you thought you would never even talk to again. Maybe this year a few of your friends are coming over for Thanksgiving dinner. And of course you're struggling to get out the door - he's not wearing the right shoes, her hair got messed up. Take a moment and breathe. Think of all the wonderful things you did today. Was it eating pumpkin pie or watch a holiday movie to get into the Christmas spirit? This year my family did something new. We always hold hands before we pray, but this year we each said a thing we're thankful for too. You don't have think '' Well, that's an idea for next year.''; you can do it right now. Just think of a few things that you're thankful for, and then pray and tell the Lord how thankful you are for the things he has given.  --------------------------------I hope you h...

1,000 GIFTS

Tonight we started writing down things we're thankful for.  Just look around the room. We will try to have one-thousand things we're thankful for by the end of the month. Here are some things I'm thankful for:  family time, cozy days spent by the fireplace, my cat, our air plant, the bed my dad made, and so,so,so, much more.  Start your own challenge, think of your own things, and give yourself one-thousand gifts  - each a gift of gratefulness. Enjoy thinking of each memory, each happy moment.  Feel free to share in the comments what you're thankful for!

NOVEMBER POEM

A few days ago we did a November poem. We copied down the poem '' November'' by Margaret Morgan. In the background we drew a tree with red and orange and yellow leaves. We drew a pile of leaves too. Oil pastels was cool because you can blend them, making things look soft and sometimes making a different color all together. You can use colored pencils, water color, or chalk pastels. You could also draw a squirrel gathering nuts, a pumpkin patch, maybe you and your friends playing in leaves. Whatever will remind you of fall. Write in your best handwriting and put your heart into it. You'll end up with a master piece.

READING ALOUD

Reading aloud to your kids is really important. I always knew reading aloud was important. My mother used to read me books, but as I got older I started reading the same series - all by myself.  I'd been talking to my dad about reading books before I went to bed, since during the week days he's always at work. Last night my dad read me the first chapter of a book. That was special time we got to spend together last night. I encourage you to read books aloud to your kids too, just like my mom and dad.  Have a nice day!

EMBRACE RAINY, MESSY DAYS

Image
Sometimes when things get chaotic, namely rainy days, it's easy to forget to focus on making memories with your family instead of focusing on cleaning the house.  Today we went outside and jumped in super muddy puddles and slashed in rain water by the curb. I even took my shoes off for a little bit. We went inside muddy and wet - but we were also happy. Today we made family memories that will last a lifetime.

NYC 2016

I just got back from New York City, with my parents and younger brother. There we shared The Gospel, along with around 400 people from the United States. A lot of people have asked why we picked New York City. Are answer is this: New York City is where people from all different backgrounds live. You'll fin d people from all different religious standpoints. The Big Bang theory, Catholic, Musl i m, Mormon, Christian, and many more. It's a great place to share some of the latest Bible teaching methods, because famous churches, like the Brooklyn Tabernacle, are in New York City. The organization that sponsors this trip, SpreadTruth is a nonprofit organization. Please feel free to give at spreadtruth.com Here's a story that I am overjoyed to share with you: My mother, my father, my brother and me were at a street corner in New York City, asking people if they needed prayer for anything. Some people said yes, but many said no. A man was walking by. We ask him if he need...

GETTING READY

I am hoping to get some sewing done tomorrow. Just the other day ago I was working on a potholder for the Kids Make and Sell, hosted outside the Children's Discovery Museum, in which can be found in Uptown Normal, in the state of Illinois. There I will be advertising Petite Craft Shop and my handmade goods. Now, back to the potholder I was making. It has  ocean colors lined up in a beautiful pattern. I hope that Petite Craft Shop will be a big success! Well, I'd better check on a few other things before I come crashing down into bed! Goodnight, Charlotte
