Spring is Here

Hello! Spring is here! For me, having the flowers in bloom is definitely a mood-lifter for the eye and scent of it. Spring is when the earth refreshes! Let me share this quote with you:  "The Earth Laughs Through Flowers"                                      -   Ralph Waldo Emerson     This quote is, in a word, happy. Ralph Waldo Emerson gives us a short, yet visual piece here. Can't you just imagine the earth laughing and flowers springing up? (No pun intended)      Weather where I live is getting warmer and more beautiful, and I love it! Being at home means more time to be outside. I've also been doing more sewing, and finished a macrame project. What are you doing more of (or something new) now that you are at home more?      Everyone could use some more encouragement. Share your favorite uplifting quote or scripture - may...

RINGING ROCKS: WHY DO THEY RING?

Have you ever heard of the ringing rocks in Butte, Montana? It's a real thing! The rocks, when hit with a hammer, make a ringing sound, and how high the ring is depends on what rock you hit. So why do the rocks ring? What's going on with these hunks of mineral? Is it the region or the rock itself? Well, first of all I want to say that there are many different theories about why the rocks ring. Some ideas are just guesses, while other ideas are based upon research. You should understand some things before we come to our final conclusion. Let me list out a few facts for you; number-style. 1. Ringing rocks aren't a new thing. In the 1800s (located in Pennsylvania) a man actually used ringing rocks to play the first "rock" concert! 2. Scientists still don't know the exact reason the rocks ring. 3. The Bible says: "But he said, "If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise." (The Message Paraphrase) Okay, so what does t...

Coffee Shop Devos

Hey gals! I know it had been so crazy long since I’ve posted 🤪. I wanted to share with you all the name of a devotional I have called Coffee Shop Devos, written by Tessa Emily Hall. It’s a Christian devotional for teen girls, and I was gifted it for Christmas last year. It has a relatable devotional, journaling section, “thing to do” each day related to the devotional, and a bonus quote or Bible verse for each devo. Plus, coffee recipes! I don’t really drink coffee (I enjoy chai lattes), but I’m tempted to try out some of the recipes! Each section of devos is organized by a particular coffee flavor - but don’t worry, the meanings are explained for people like me who don’t “speak coffee”. 😆  You can enter giveaways and check out Coffee Shop Devos on Tessa’s website and her blog Christ is Write  is also a great resource for aspiring writers. I will try to post more often here ;) Happy Thanksgiving!! 🍁

SUNNY

Image
We adopted a third bird! She is yellow and green, and her breed is Budgie/Parakeet. Her name is Sunny! Sunny shares a cage with our other two parakeets, Snowbird and Wonderstruck. My dad built their cage. Parakeets/Budgies like mirrors, swings, string! We have a swing, cozy corner, a sort of corner thing they can perch on and eat treats, a hanging perch, shreddable/edible things, ladders, twigs, a rope perch, a cuttlebone, and a small hanging object for our birds!       These are our birds (from left to right) - Snowbird, Sunny, and Wonderstruck!

HAPPENINGS

Hi readers! It has been a while since I last posted, so Happy 2018 and Happy Valentines Day! I also thought I could tell you my family and I’s happenings in this blog post.     We had two parakeets join our home in 2017! We have a blue bird named Wonderstruck and a white bird named Snowbird. They like to talk and sing, although they are currently quiet. My dad built them the bird cage they live mostly in.     It snowed recently where we live. Right now the fireplace is no longer spitting up fiery flames, but letting hot embers rest in the fireplace instead, while the clock ticks - in doing so counting the seconds that make up life. Wonderful picture.     We went to Walt Disney World and Universal in December. It was not our first time going to WDW, but it was my first time Universal! We visited The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal, and I got a wand! We also rode the Hogwarts Express. :)     Two of my siblings had birt...

HOW PEOPLE UNDERESTIMATE THE WORD ''LOVE''

You'd be surprised if you knew how many times a day you say or type the word 'love.' Today I'm focusing on the topic of love, and how we use it - the word love is so underestimated.    Does this sound familiar? '' I LOVE that dress!'' '' I just LOVED that handbag you had last night! Where did you get it?'' or ''I LOVE that phone case!''  Pause a moment and think about how much our language has changed... just an example is how you reply: yes ma'm - okay - ok - k. Watch what you say because you may find yourself saying you love something even sarcastically. The word love was intended for the use of a complex relationship between a sibling or parent, man and woman. Now we use it for unimportant things. The word love might just mean a little more all over the world if we stop using it as a throwaway word. When you talk about your love for someone or how Jesus loves you, it would probably go a lot deeper if you would s...
